I am Linda Willis, and I have been a teacher at RCS since 1988, when I started the Middle School here. Prior to coming to RCS, I taught at Community Christian and Merritt Island Christian in Brevard County. Before moving to Brevard, I was an Air Force wife for 20 years so I have taught in Alabama, South Carolina, and
Hahn AFB, Germany. My experience ranges from first grade up through every grade to ninth grade. But Middle School is my calling from God and where my heart feels home!
In 1972, I graduated from Judson College, a Baptist college in Alabama. I hold a
BS in Elementary Education. I received my certification as a teacher in 1972, and
continue to upgrade it through various seminars and classes. My area of concentration for advanced classes has been in the field of Language Arts, which I presently teach at RCS.
My hobbies center around my love of the arts. I enjoy listening to music and playing piano; but reading and writing are my favorites. In 1978, I became a published author with my poem entitled "Insights." Then, again in 1998, I was published in The Anthology of Poetry, Teacher's Edition. While in Europe, I served as a PTF Representative to the European PTF Congress. Then, in 1987, I served as
Word Caller for the Department of Defense European Schools Spelling Bee. In more recent years, I have been included in Who's Who of American Teachers
(student oriented) for five years. Also, I have served as Lead Teacher of Middle School at RCS and was selected as Teacher of the Year at RCS in 1996. Currently, I am serving as National Junior Honor Society Advisor. I also am the Coordinator for the RCS Spelling Bee, and I am proud to say that four of my participants have attended the ACSI National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C.!
The rest of my time is spent in serving the Lord at my home church. I teach an
Adult Sunday School class and host a small group study in my home on Friday nights. I also sing in the church choir and serve on various committees. Also, at various times, I teach the HOPE Class, in which the Lord allows me to minister to those who are hurt or hurting.
